Identity
Welcome to a new year at VCI.
The art department does have some exciting news to share. First, we celebrate our artists of the month, Spring Bigelow and Ashley Higginson. Both students took art this semester and demonstrated the values promoted in class. Congratulations!
Second, we have had a busy start to our school year with projects on identity. The aim was to illustrate our past and future through mixed media works. The results are fantastic. We also worked on still-life studies of Pumpkins (various sizes). We used soft pastels and based our works on compositional rules. The artworks are now being shown in the library and sold in a silent auction. AMAZING. October is full of surprises, so stay tuned!
Our October Artists of the Month is celebrated. Congratulations to Félix Larocque and Lola Timm Sabourin for their work in class so far. These students worked on Landscapes and colors this month. They are joining Spring and Ashley in the wall of fame.
